At Hogan Lovells Cadwalader Lee & Lee (HLC), being a Responsible Business is a key strategic priority. From 29 July to 22 August 2026, colleagues at the firm ran the HLC Donation Drive – Passing It Forward with Share At Door Step, filling around five full boxes with pre-loved clothes, shoes, stationery, toys, books and kitchenware for people who can use them.

Why It Mattered to HLC
Responsible Business reflects our shared commitment to use our skills, resources and influence to make a positive difference in society. Guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we seek to align our business activities with our broader social responsibilities and empower people and communities to thrive.

For HLC, the drive was a practical way to bring that commitment into the office. Giving pre-loved items a second life supports community wellbeing and keeps usable belongings out of the waste stream, a simple action every colleague could take part in.

A Firm-Wide Effort
Led by organiser Yu Jun Cheow, the drive brought together colleagues from different teams around one shared goal.
One of the most memorable aspects of the donation drive was seeing colleagues across the firm come together around a shared purpose. The collective response demonstrated how collaboration, even through small individual actions, can create a meaningful impact for both people and the environment.

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Colleagues appreciated how simple and convenient it was to contribute items they no longer needed, and several have already said they would like to join the next drive.
How Share At Door Step Supported the Drive

Our team designed custom posters in HLC’s brand colours, which colleagues used to turn ordinary boxes into donation points around the office. Once the drive closed, we handled the logistics and matched the donations with a social organisation in our Singapore network, so every item reached people who need it.
To thank the people behind the drive, Yu Jun Cheow received an Organiser Certificate, while Yu Jun Cheow, Khushaal Ved, Jayson Goh and the firm itself received Changemaker Certificates.
Small Actions, Lasting Impact
The initiative reinforced the idea that meaningful giving can often start with simple actions. It highlighted how items that may no longer serve one person can have significant value for someone else, while also reducing unnecessary waste. It was a reminder that supporting people and supporting the planet can go hand in hand.

Thank you to everyone at HLC who gave generously and helped pass it forward.
