Forged by a commitment to provide equal opportunities for every individual with special needs, MINDS was founded by a group of philanthropists to provide education for children with intellectual disabilities. Starting with just 26 children in a classroom in 1962, MINDS has since grown to be one of the largest and oldest social service agencies caring for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Vision

To be a social service agency that advances the development, well-being and aspirations of Persons with Intellectual Disability (PWIDs).

Mission

  • To maximise the development and well-being of PWIDs through the provision of a comprehensive range of quality services.
  • To empower PWIDs and their families so as to enable them to maximise their potential and fulfil their aspirations.
  • To advocate the interests and causes of PWIDs so as to enable them to participate as fully as possible in society.
